She has collaborated with artists all over the US and partaken in several live art performances. Anmi moved to NY in her formative years in search of art and inspiration. A keen art enthusiast, anmi formed her own style inspired by art exhibitions, museums and books. She integrates the concepts of surefire techniques, speedy application, creative designs, proper sanitation and reasonable prices. With cutting edge technology and perfected techniques she can save time on cutting and filing and devote it to her painting. Sometimes she is so fast, she has to wait for the 5-second LED nail dryer! She was troubled with thin, fine hair. And on top of that, it had no volume. Cleansing the Scalp – Head Spa Session 1. After checking her hair and scalp, Hayasaka concluded her locks needed some serious R&R. Head Massage and Repair Mask – Head Spa Session 4. After the client’s scalp and hair were thoroughly cleansed, the stylist moved on to a head massage. Named after the layers that make up the hair’s cuticle, the mask uses highly advanced lamellar technology that targets damaged hair. The active ingredients then bind and smooth the cuticle for shiny, healthy hair. While letting the mask set, the stylist began applying gentle pressure by the hairline. He moved from the temples, to the ears, and back to the neck to release all the built-up tension. Expertly kneading the scalp, he worked to release all of the client’s built-up tension. After about 25 minutes, Hayasaka finished the massage and brought over a big machine. When he turned it on, steam filled the air. The stylist then started steaming the client’s hair. He explained that this step was important to open the hair follicles and allow the mask to fully penetrate. Steaming the hair also helps improve its health and shine. One of the hair models wanted a digital perm – a unique Japanese hair perm, while our second model opted for a double-process hair color, a conditioning treatment, and a haircut. Great Deal for Japanese Digital Perm So what exactly is a digital perm? Created and perfected in Japan, the digital perm uses heat to give the hair its shape memory and it also strengthens the condition of the hair. It gives hair a 3-D effect with flexible waves and curls, without making the hair stiff or dull – and its effects are extremely long-lasting. Let’s see the process for ourselves on our first hair model. Digital perm chemicals being applied to the hair Our first model wanted to shake up her very long and somewhat lifeless tresses with some bouncy curls as well as a boost of shine. After a detailed hair analysis by the stylist, it was decided that the digital perm would be the perfect treatment for what she wanted, and he proceeded to prep her hair for the treatment. First, the chemicals were carefully applied to her hair and given time to set. The stylist took special care to only apply bleach to her virgin hair, including avoiding folding the foil to keep the application precise. After washing out the bleach, the stylist created the perfect shade of purple to match the photograph our model brought in. After applying the dye to the bleached ends, the end color is an amazing dip-dye/gradation of bright purple! The locals have also been coming back for more as soon as Natura’s honey pack’s gooey enchantment spread across the neighborhood. Choosing the Right Essential Oils for Your Hair Sinking into a plush chair, I was offered a cool drink (a non-alcoholic one. Frowny face) and asked to choose an essential oil from out of four – lavender, peppermint, rosemary and bergamot. Once selected, my “Curist”, Ms. M, led me to a comfortable Yume (to dream) reclining chair and gently washed and pat-dried my hair, getting all the city dirt and grime out. Ms. M proudly holding her “curist” diploma. Guided back to the plush chair, Ms. M blended bergamot oil with some argan oil to make a fragrant concoction for a much-needed twenty-minute head massage. The oils in the massage help to rehydrate and cleanse the scalp of any undesirables. A “curist” is a new Japanese word coined for a specialist in handling the head cure treatment. The knowledge and skill one must acquire in order to be qualified is extensive. The honey packs in all their glory. You have two options – honey with brown sugar (which is most effective for white hair), and the other, honey with a minty twist. Aging Care and Revitalization of Scalp & Hair The main effect of the head cure is “aging care and revitalization of scalp and hair”. It heals dry and oily scalps just the same and increases the quality of your hair drastically. I was spoiled to bits – a trim, blow-drying, brushing, a hot iron and a head full of curls, sprayed with a glossy finish.
