On a bright and sunny morning, Kristine arrived at NORA Ginza for a revitalizing hair experience. Representative Araki and Head therapist Sasaki welcomed her in and showed her to a wall of lockers to put away her things. She wanted to experience a restorative head spa, a quintessential Japanese treatment. Understanding her needs, the stylists recommended their highly-requested, all-natural head spa package to relieve any stress Kristine might have and to revive her long, brown locks. This package features a holistic head spa using essential oils made up of 100 percent pure and natural plant essence followed by a haircut to revive your look. The essential oils absorb into the skin, improving blood flow and relaxing the body with their aromatic benefits that you can be enjoyed long after the appointment.
Head therapist Sasaki whisked the client to the back and invited her to take a seat at one of the washing stations. NORA Ginza is equipped with plush, fully-reclining shampoo chairs to pamper clients and give them the utmost sense of relaxation. As Kristine got comfortable, Sasaki turned towards her arsenal of organic goodies by Shigeta. Made by a Japanese woman in France, the Shigeta haircare line features all-natural ingredients with aromatherapeutic benefits that are perfect for repairing damaged hair and bringing out its original beauty. The brand also produces complementary skincare and detox water.
First up was shampoo. Using Shigeta’s Wild Grace Repair Shampoo, the head therapist worked the product into Kristine’s wet hair. Immediately, the salon was filled with the scent of geranium and other botanical extracts.
With the hair cleansed and rinsed, she moved onto the treatment. Starting with scalp care, head therapist Sasaki took Shigeta’s essential oil blend Midnight Lustre and applied a few drops to the client’s hairline. As she worked the oil into Kristine’s scalp, alluring notes such as frankincense, myrrh, spearmint, and sage scented the air.
Without washing the oil out, head therapist Sasaki then took Shigeta’s Wild Grace Repair Hair Mask and applied it from mid-shaft to end. She then massaged what was left into roots while letting the product penetrate the hair follicle. She continued massaging the model’s head, working from the hairline all the way to the nape of the neck.
After five minutes of massaging the model’s scalp, the head therapist brought over two more essential oils: Body Mind Spirit and River of Life. Kristine was then asked to choose between the two. Body Mind Spirit is a calming blend of ingredients like patchouli, chamomile, and geranium that invites a meditative state. While River of Life improves circulation with its invigorating blend of things such as cypress, rosemary camphor, and peppermint.
Sasaki explained that your body knows what it needs at the moment, so choose the essential oil that smells best to you. Following her advice, the client chose Body Mind Spirit. Using Body Mind Spirit, the head therapist began a neck and shoulder massage using long, kneading strokes to relieve tension.
With the massage completed, the head spa was done. The hair treatment was washed out of Kristine’s hair and she was brought to the stylist chair where representative Araki waited. Araki spoke with her on her hair concerns and what she’d like done, as well as how to care for her hair at home. From there, Araki went to work trimming split ends and styling her new ‘do. The model was left satisfied with a relaxing treatment that restored volume and life to her long locks.
