Choosing the Right Essential Oils for Your Hair
Sinking into a plush chair, I was offered a cool drink (a non-alcoholic one. Frowny face) and asked to choose an essential oil from out of four – lavender, peppermint, rosemary and bergamot. Once selected, my “Curist”, Ms. M, led me to a comfortable Yume (to dream) reclining chair and gently washed and pat-dried my hair, getting all the city dirt and grime out.

Guided back to the plush chair, Ms. M blended bergamot oil with some argan oil to make a fragrant concoction for a much-needed twenty-minute head massage. The oils in the massage help to rehydrate and cleanse the scalp of any undesirables. A “curist” is a new Japanese word coined for a specialist in handling the head cure treatment. The knowledge and skill one must acquire in order to be qualified is extensive. The honey packs in all their glory. You have two options – honey with brown sugar (which is most effective for white hair), and the other, honey with a minty twist.
Aging Care and Revitalization of Scalp & Hair
The main effect of the head cure is “aging care and revitalization of scalp and hair”. It heals dry and oily scalps just the same and increases the quality of your hair drastically. By stimulating the pressure points on your scalp, temples, and neck, you’ll start to feel relaxed and at the end, rejuvenated. One of the key techniques is something called “push and roll” – push on the pressure points for three to five seconds then roll out the stress, getting the knots out of your system. It also improves headaches such as white hair, hair loss, dandruff, and dryness. In addition, it’ll prompt better blood circulation causing fatigue lines to disappear and boost skin complexion. Definitely, something to queue for.

The Honey Hair Pack and Sparking Water Shower
The beach theme extended into the “shampoo room” as well, leaving me wanting a cocktail all the more. Beach scenes projected onto the big blank wall, giving it a cozy, and yet spacious, feel at the same time. The honey pack (plus a ten-minute head massage and later, a hot steam towel wrapped around your head) was pure delight! I’ll let the photograph below do all the convincing. It really was a treat – a lush and luxurious treat.

The sparkling water shower was a cascade of warm bubbles caressing and repairing. All the minerals in the water being absorbed by the pores and split-ends like a thirsty beast.

It was the best of goodbyes. I was spoiled to bits – a trim, blow-drying, brushing, a hot iron and a head full of curls, sprayed with a glossy finish. It was my shot at feeling like a celebrity thanks to Natura and all their lovely stylists! And special thanks to my “curist”, Ms. M. “Thank you!”
