The Master Stylist Today Today, Nageyama is a highly respected salon owner and sought-after hair stylist in his own right. Professionalism and high quality service are equally as important to him as his hair design techniques, as he believes that – regardless of the salon’s ambience and decor – the stylist holds the ultimate responsibility in providing customers what was promised to them. He has many loyal customers that will travel long distances for his services, and he is a trusted beauty advisor who assists in developing beauty products with leading Japanese manufacturers. Representative Araki and Head therapist Sasaki welcomed her in and showed her to a wall of lockers to put away her things. She wanted to experience a restorative head spa, a quintessential Japanese treatment. Understanding her needs, the stylists recommended their highly-requested, all-natural head spa package to relieve any stress Kristine might have and to revive her long, brown locks. This package features a holistic head spa using essential oils made up of 100 percent pure and natural plant essence followed by a haircut to revive your look. The essential oils absorb into the skin, improving blood flow and relaxing the body with their aromatic benefits that you can be enjoyed long after the appointment. Aromatic and All-Natural Haircare by Shigeta Head therapist Sasaki whisked the client to the back and invited her to take a seat at one of the washing stations. NORA Ginza is equipped with plush, fully-reclining shampoo chairs to pamper clients and give them the utmost sense of relaxation. As Kristine got comfortable, Sasaki turned towards her arsenal of organic goodies by Shigeta. Made by a Japanese woman in France, the Shigeta haircare line features all-natural ingredients with aromatherapeutic benefits that are perfect for repairing damaged hair and bringing out its original beauty. One of the hair models wanted a digital perm – a unique Japanese hair perm, while our second model opted for a double-process hair color, a conditioning treatment, and a haircut. Great Deal for Japanese Digital Perm So what exactly is a digital perm? Created and perfected in Japan, the digital perm uses heat to give the hair its shape memory and it also strengthens the condition of the hair. It gives hair a 3-D effect with flexible waves and curls, without making the hair stiff or dull – and its effects are extremely long-lasting. Let’s see the process for ourselves on our first hair model. Digital perm chemicals being applied to the hair Our first model wanted to shake up her very long and somewhat lifeless tresses with some bouncy curls as well as a boost of shine. After a detailed hair analysis by the stylist, it was decided that the digital perm would be the perfect treatment for what she wanted, and he proceeded to prep her hair for the treatment. The stylist took special care to only apply bleach to her virgin hair, including avoiding folding the foil to keep the application precise. After washing out the bleach, the stylist created the perfect shade of purple to match the photograph our model brought in.
