The model Hana arrived early that morning. The stylists welcomed her in and quickly brought her to a chair and made her comfortable. Then, they began the consultation. She needed a new look—something stylish—and she wanted to neutralize the reds in her hair. She had not been to a salon in several months, and her hair needed a bit of a TLC. Stylists Yukari Katayama and Takahiro Araki suggested a color close to her natural hair color and a cut with feminine bangs that framed her face. This style would look great and be easy for her to maintain in between salon visits. Over 400 Hair Colors to Choose From After Hana agreed, stylist Yukari went to a wall of dyes in the middle of the salon. NORA has over 400 colors and stylists can mix dyes to create custom shades for clients, she told us. She grabbed three bottles and began mixing a custom color. She was making a shade just for the model. Once the color was ready, the stylists began applying the color throughout the Hana’s hair. The dyes they were using were ADDICTCHY, a Japanese professional hair color brand that would give the model shiny, long-lasting color. After checking on the model’s hair, stylist Takahiro Araki said they were ready to wash the dye out. American pop music played as our model Angelina entered Spin Hair Works. Right away, licensed head therapist Hayasaka brought her to a private room. Angelina wanted to have a head spa. She was troubled with thin, fine hair. And on top of that, it had no volume. Cleansing the Scalp – Head Spa Session 1. After checking her hair and scalp, Hayasaka concluded her locks needed some serious R&R. Spin Hair Works, a specialist in hair services, has a rejuvenating head spa showcasing haircare products by leading head spa brand ESTESSiMO. With a philosophy of holistic beauty in haircare, ESTESSiMO restores hair health by addressing issues from the scalp. Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and if the skin on your head is unhealthy, then your hair will suffer. Lathering into a dense bubbly froth, the cleanser removes dirt while releasing an alluring scent of jasmine, rosemary, and sandalwood—perfect for a sophisticated client. Following the shampoo, Hayasaka applied Meline Treatment. For those who need more volume, this conditioner softens the hair without weighing it down. Head Massage and Repair Mask – Head Spa Session 4. After the client’s scalp and hair were thoroughly cleansed, the stylist moved on to a head massage. Spin’s massage dispels the throbbing headaches caused by eye strain and the sore neck pains from poor posture. Hayasaka applied ESTISSiMO Lamella Mask to the hair. Named after the layers that make up the hair’s cuticle, the mask uses highly advanced lamellar technology that targets damaged hair. The active ingredients then bind and smooth the cuticle for shiny, healthy hair. While letting the mask set, the stylist began applying gentle pressure by the hairline. He moved from the temples, to the ears, and back to the neck to release all the built-up tension. Expertly kneading the scalp, he worked to release all of the client’s built-up tension. After about 25 minutes, Hayasaka finished the massage and brought over a big machine. When he turned it on, steam filled the air. The stylist then started steaming the client’s hair. He explained that this step was important to open the hair follicles and allow the mask to fully penetrate. Steaming the hair also helps improve its health and shine.
